Twitter Massive Hacked

Last night July 15, 2020, many twitter’s account got hacked including Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Joe Biden, and others — tweet out a bitcoin scam.

Here’s are some examples, tweets from Barack Obama.

TheNextWeb.com reported a short list of hacked twitter accounts. (Nice work finding these twitter posts).

Seriously, the list reads like a who’ s who of famous people, companies, and cryptocurrency-related services. So far we’ve been able to identify at least these accounts as having posted fraudulent tweets:

This is a massive hacked concerning the #1 micro-blogging platform Twitter. It seems a complete take over. We will definitely monitor this story.

While we wait for the full cyber security report, here are few alternative micro-blogging to use.

Twitter issued a statement regarding the hacked event.

We detected what we believe to be a coordinated social engineering attack by people who successfully targeted some of our employees with access to internal systems and tools.

Hacker named “Kirk” behind bitcoin scam? He seems to have access to the twitter administrative account.

I’m not surprised some (383) people actually sent BTC to the bitcoin address with estimated value of $117,000. As of this writing, BTC is around $9100 per bitcoin. This is why phishing is not going away anytime soon.
