Domain Name Lock and Hard Lock

At eNom (NeedName.com Enom Technology Partner), we take our customers’ security very seriously. It’s a priority for our team that your domains and services remain safe 24/7. And, yes, while our security is very robust, pitfalls such as weak passwords and malware acquired from other sites can compromise the safety of not only your eNom account, but all of your online accounts.

With that in mind, here are some security tips to keep you, your domains and services extra safe with us.

This is a free service that you can enable on your domains that will lock the domains through our control panel, should your account get hacked it will help deter mischievous people. But, for the most powerful and robust way to ensure complete security we can place a “hard lock” on your domains. A hard lock will disable any DNS updates (people can’t reroute your traffic or transfer your domains to another registrar), WHOIS updates (take ownership away from you), purchases, etc. To place a hard lock, you can submit a support ticket or speak with one of our friendly, knowledgeable sales agents.

As a customer, I submitted a help request to apply this “hard lock” to my precious domain name KING.NET and other domain portfolio.

After 11 hours, customer service replied with the following.

“Hello,
Thank you for contacting us to assist with your issue. I will be happy to help you.
This went in a news letter in error. We apologize but unfortunately we do not have a process for this.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely,

Technical Support”

Oh well, maybe they are not ready to provide this value added service.
