ShinyHunters Strikes Again: 275 Million Records, ADT Breach, and the New Era of AI-Powered Cyber Attacks

In a single week of May, the ShinyHunters extortion group claimed roughly 275 million records stolen from the Canvas learning platform used by nearly 9,000 schools, ADT confirmed a breach impacting 5.5 million users through a compromised Okta single sign-on, and Cushman & Wakefield disclosed the loss of more than 500,000 Salesforce records to the same threat actor. Across the industry, the picture is unmistakable: attackers are scaling faster than defenders, and artificial intelligence is the reason.
