Today, we are witnessing the birth of the AI Agent: an entity capable of autonomous reasoning, strategic planning, and executing complex workflows across multiple digital ecosystems without constant human oversight.

From Chatbots to Autonomous Agents

The distinction between a traditional Large Language Model (LLM) and an AI Agent is fundamental. While a chatbot waits for a prompt to generate text, an agent is given a goal. For instance, instead of asking an AI to write an itinerary for a business trip to Tokyo, an Agentic system is told, Organize my business trip to Tokyo next month, optimize for my preferred airlines, book the hotels near the conference center, and synchronize the meetings with my key stakeholders calendars.
