HOWTO Check Maximum Password Age?

Using Windows 10, here’s the step by step procedure to check the Maximum Password Age on your PC.

Click Start (Windows icon), type “Local Security Policy“. Go to Security Settings\Account Policies\Password Policy

In here, you can change the default Maximum password age 42 days.

In Windows Server 2008 R2, you may use the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) add-in or click on Start, All Programs, Administrative Tools, then select Local Security Policy. You will see something like the captured image below.

Go to Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Account Policy/

By default, 42 days is the Maximum password age. You may change this to any number you want according to your internal standard, process and procedures.
